  • Go to the Techniques for Writing web site. Read Section 3 (Writing Topic Sentences for Paragraphs). Complete Exercises A & B and show Ms. Johnson your results. Complete the writing exercise described in the

Sahil & Laila - Voice

  • Read the following article--> Writing Tips: Personal Voice in Writing.
  • As we read Girl Coming in for a Landing this week, we'll do exercises to analyze the writer's voice.
  • Choose a writing topic from the Glossary of Writing Prompts and choose an emotion. Write your response focusing on putting that emotion in your voice.



Week of April 10 to 14=

    • Watch the video below. Then do activity #2.





  • Activity #2 - Practice identifying the correct parts of a sentence and the correct types of sentences. Keep taking the quiz until you answer all of the questions correctly.

Go to the following web site: Techniques for Writing. Read the introduction and complete Section 1 (Your Writing) and Section 2 (Limiting Your Topic). Share your work with Ms. Johnson to get feedback before turning it in.

Go to the following web site: Voice. Choose one of the tips and do a quick write on a topic (ask Ms. Johnson if you need help with a topic). Share your work with each other to get feedback and then try to revise your writing to make your voice stronger. Turn in your work to Ms. Johnson for feedback.
